The premises of the Department of Justice have been target to burglars for the second time this year. Yesterday it became public that 22 notebooks were stolen from the computer centre of the department of justice on January 22.

Last week too an announcement was made that in the weekend of February 20 and 21 the Department of Justice in The Hague has been burglarized. Then also notebooks have been stolen. The theft in the computer centre in Zeist took place January 26. According to the Justice Department spokesman probably no sensitive information has been stolen. However the Justice Department is not absolutely sure.

Precaution
All access codes to the central database, which contains information of all current investigations, are being modified as a precaution measure. This database that is accessible with the stolen notebooks, the research teams can verify if a suspect is also subject to investigation in other regions of The Netherlands.

It is assumed that the thieves have gain access to the computer centre with false access cards. This indicates that the robbery was carefully planned. It is the third time in a short period that the Department of Justice is embarrassed by the loss of computer equipment.
Next to the two burglaries, district attorney Mr. Tonino was discredited in August last year due to the fact that he disposed his personal computer with a lot of confidential information on the sidewalk as garbage. As a result Mr. Tonino has to resign as district attorney.
