Thursday October 14, 2004, 23:56

HAARLEM - For the second time in a short period of time a computer of a District Attorney has fallen into the wrong hands. It concerns the notebook of the Haarlem district attorney, which has been stolen a couple of weeks ago. The Justice Department is investigating whether or not the information has been copied from the computer.

The notebook is a private computer according to the press attorney J. Hartjes. To the question if the private computer is been used for his work, wasn't confirmed by Hartjes. "All information on the notebook is confidential". The district attorney has secured the notebook and nobody had access to the information according to Hartjes.

Current state of affairs is that no information has been copied from the computer, but the Justice Department isn't 100% sure. The police have arrested the thief and the fence. Last week came to light that fraud district attorney J. Tonino put his computer with confidential information as garbage on the sidewalk. A taxi driver took the computer home and delivered the computer to crime reporter Peter R. de Vries. Tonino resigned last Tuesday because his credibility as a district attorney was compromised by the incident.
